Hi All,
First off, hello from an Aussie whose now based in Kiel. So if you have any questions about diving around the pacific and Australia / New Zealand, please ask away.
Anyhow, my turn for questions, im trying to organise some diving on the wrecks inthe Baltic, however, im hitting hurdles in that no one seems to actually go out and dive them, that includes the local dive shops..
Hence, im looking to try to organise the charters direct myself, which in turn means that i`d like to try to organise in the medium term a charter that is prepared to head up to and out of jutland...
Hence, got a couple of Q`s:
1. Anyone got any potential contacts??
2. Any other local divers around? everyone here seems to shore dive only....
3. What are the local German Tauch forums for me to join??

guess I might answer some of your questions.
There are two adresses to contact for wreck diving in the baltic sea near Kiel.
www.tauchparadies-schwedeneck.de is a small family owned diving base placed appx 10 km in the north of Kiel. Gerhard who is the owner might get you out there to the wrecks with his motoryacht as soon as you have a small group of divers together.
Hier klicken is a shop places in the same direction. The BDC organizes regular wreck diving tours with larger boats. Simply look at their calendar on the internet site.
A tour to jutland is more complicated to organize because of difficult law restrictions for the transportation of persons in boats. Look up Google for the Boat "Bubblewatcher". Maybe they could do so.
And yes... there are a whole lot of divers around. You could contact me by private message as I am working in Kiel. An alternative is to join some of the larger diving clubs in Kiel, for example www.duc-kiel.de. If you would like to find others, look up "Tauchverein Kiel" in Google
This is the most common "Tauchforum" you can join.

Some difficulties in commercial wreckdiving are due to the fact that ships have to undergo a rigid certification process, which demands not every owner is willing to meet.
BTW, to my knowledge there is an english dive club in Kiel, perhaps Oliver in Baltic Dive Center knows their coordinates. Just if they understand your Oz drawl Matthias
