Ein seit Tagen vermisster deutscher Höhlentaucher ist in Spanien in einer Höhle in 30 Meter Tiefe tot aufgefunden worden. Rettungstaucher bargen die Leiche des 32-Jährigen aus einem Arm in der Höhle bei Tella in der Provinz Huesca am Südrand der Pyrenäen. Der in Barcelona lebende Deutsche war am Sonntag bei einem Tauchgang in der Höhle nicht mehr an die Oberfläche zurückgekehrt.
El domingo 9-9-2001, los espeleologos catalanes Miquel Romans y Fritz Leunzel exploran la cavidad L`artiguo Bajo en el Valle de Escuain (Estaroniello - Huesca).
Por esta cavidad discurre un río subterráneo que origina dos sifones, vertiendo sus aguas al Río Yaga.

Miquel Romans da aviso a la Guardia Civil de que su compañero Fritz Leunzel se adentra en el segundo sifón y no sale.
19`30 h.
La Guardia Civil da el aviso al Espeleo Socorro Aragonés (ESA).
El Espeleo Socorro Aragonés contacta con el compañero del desaparecido vía Guardia Civil.
20`15 h.
Los GEAS (buceadores de la Guardia Civil) de Huesca parten hacia la cavidad.
20`30 h.
Parten hacia la cavidad el Coordinador del Espeleo Socorro Aragonés con un buceador y un socorrista.
El Espeleo Socorro Aragonés da aviso al 112 (Protección Civil).
21`30 h.
Un primer grupo de buceadores de los GEAS con el compañero del desaparecido entran en la cavidad.
23`45 h.
Sale el primer grupo de buceadores que pasan el primer sifón y exploran la galería entre el primer y segundo sifón y otras galería superiores sin encontrar nada.
LUNES 10-9-2001
00`15 h.
El ESA avisa a los Bomberos de Zaragoza para que se preparen 8 buceadores y material de buceo.
4`15 h.
Entra un equipo de buceadores de la Generalitat de Cataluña.
6`30 h.
Los Bomberos de Zaragoza parten hacia la zona.
6`45 h.
Sale el equipo de buceadores habiendo pasado el segundo sifón sin encontrar indicios del desaparecido al otro lado.
7 h.
Un socorrista del ESA parte hacia la zona con material de ESA.
10`30 h.
Los Bomberos de Zaragoza se disponen a intentar vaciar el primer sifón con motobombas.
12 h.
Se ayuda del helicóptero de la Guardia Civil para transportar el material de las motobombas a la boca.
13 h.
Entra un tercer equipo de buceadores para explorar una parte del sifón.
15 h.
Tras revisar techos y chimeneas del sifón, salen si encontrar nada.
15`30 h.
Entra un grupo de socorristas para explorar las cercanías del 2º sifón.
18`30 h.
Sale el grupo habiendo cortocircuitado el 2º sifón por galerías superiores sin encontrar nada.
22`15 h.
Entra un grupo de buceadores a explorar la galería horizontal de 2º sifón.
23`50 h.
Sale el grupo de buceadores sin poder hacer nada por la turbidez del agua y observan el mal estado del cordel guía.
MARTES 11-9-2001
00 h.
Entra otro grupo de buceadores al 2º sifón a cambiar el cordel guía de la galería inundada.
16h.
Se desiste de vaciar el 1º sifón con las motobombas debido a estar en el nivel freático del río y llenarse continuamente.
Se aprovecha el generador para iluminar zonas de la cavidad a un lado y a otro de los sifones.
19 h.
Entra un grupo de 13 buceadores a explorar la vertical del 2º sifón.
22`15 h.
Sale el grupo de buceadores.
El espeleobuceador Miquel Romans apoyado en el sifón por dos buceadores y ayudados por 10 buceadores más para transportar el material y las botellas entre sifones, ha descendido con mezcla de gases trimix hasta -53 m. iluminando hasta -60 m. sin encontrar nada y sin llegar al final del sifón.
MIERCOLES 12-9-2001
11 h.
Entran los espeleobuceadores del Espeleo Socorro Aragones Santiago Carvajal, Oscar Flores, y Salvador Luque del Consorcio de Bomberos de Alicante, a explorar la galería horizontal sumergida a -34 m. del 2º sifón ayudados para el transporte de material entre sifones de otros 7 buceadores.
14`55 h.
Salen los espeleobuceadores habiendo encontrado al desaparecido.
Santiago Carvajal lo localiza empotrado en una grieta del techo a unos 15 m. en la galería inundada a -34 m. colocándole un cordel para que un próximo equipo llegue hasta el y lo saque del sifón.
18`25 h.
Un equipo de 3 espeleobuceadores ayudados por 8 buceadores más, entran en la cavidad portando camilla para transportarlo al exterior.
21`20 h.
El equipo sale al exterior de la cavidad con el desaparecido.
21`45 h.
El cuerpo del desaparecido llega al puesto de control para en coche ser transportado a Boltaña.
23 h.
El operativo de rescate se da por finalizado a expensas de desmantelar el puesto de control.
