Two men have died in an accident at a diving centre in Leicestershire.
Emergency services were called to the Stoney Cove Centre between Hinckley and Lutterworth at 1000 BST on Tuesday.
An investigation is now under way into the deaths of the two divers. There have been several deaths at the former quarry since it opened to divers.
The two men were taken to Leicester Royal Infirmary but were declared dead on arrival. Police have not yet released details of the pair.
Former quarry
The diving centre said in a statement: "Three qualified divers went into Stoney Cove water to enjoy a pleasure dive. They were not under instruction or under the supervision of Stoney Cove.
"Soon after the start of the dive one diver came to the surface, having got separated from his two buddies.
"A little while later two other divers raised the alarm that they had found two divers in difficulty on the bottom."
Leicestershire Police the incident is not being treated as suspicious.
Previous deaths
A woman diver from Cambridgeshire died and her fellow male diver was taken ill following an accident at the same centre in February 2004.
The man was rushed to hospital in Hull for decompression treatment after fetching help when the woman ran low on air.
The names of the latest divers to die are not being released until their next of kin have been informed.
There has been on average one death a year for the past 25 years at the former quarry since it opened.
About 60,000 divers each year use the diving centre, which has diving depths from 7m to 36m.
