POMPANO BEACH, Florida (5 Dec 2005) -- A scuba diver who died off Pompano Beach after complaining of breathing problems died from natural causes. A medical examiner has determined that Hubert Matthews, 64, died of cardiovascular disease.
Mathews experienced problems at the surface prior to descending on his second dive with Scuba Time, a dive boat operator.
Friends who were part of the dive group pulled the victim aboard the dive boat and initiated CPR while heading back to port where paramedics were standing by.
