SYDNEY, N.S. ? A man from the Annapolis Valley is dead following a scuba dive in Cape Breton`s Barra Strait. The 58-year old from Kingston was diving with a group in Grand Narrows Sunday morning when he had problems. It`s not clear what happened, but the man was pronounced dead at the Northside General Hospital. Local diver Ken Jardine said the man was with a group of divers from the Valley and the Shearwater military base who checked out a wreck off Louisbourg on Saturday and then one in Grand Narrows. Jardine was not with the group when the accident happened. After speaking with the divers later, he said he believes the group took the necessary precautions during the dive. The diver`s equipment is being tested. A report is expected from the medical examiner`s office.
